Biography

Ekaterina was born in September 1980 in Saint-Petersburg (Russia)
and began studying piano from the age of five. From 1989 to 1998 she studies under L.Rudova at the special music school for talentedchildren in St.Petersburg.

After completing the final examination
she went on to study at the Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik in Freiburg (Germany) under Prof.V.Berzon qualifying as a music teacher and piano soloist with highest marks.

She pursued her solo piano studies under Prof. Berzon and also in 2004-2005 under Prof. Kammerling at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Since 2006, she studied as soloist and chamber musician at the Hochschule für Musik in Frankfurt under Prof.Edelstein und Prof.Merkle until final examination in Februar 2010.

Ekaterina has participated in Master classes given by Jaques Ruvier, Mr. Josef Kalichstein, Menachem Pressler and Prof. Dmitri Bashkirov.

She has entered many international piano competitions and won the 2004 Tabor Piano Award at the Verbier Festival & Academy. In November 2005 she won the Carl-Seemann-Preis at the Freiburg chamber music competition.

She has played Solo and Chamber music in St.Petersburg, Japan, South-Germany and Switzerland, France (bei Festival Perigold de Noir), Gran Canarien-Finca Festival von Justus Frantz and Barbados and her appearances as soloist with orchestras include the Kurpfalzisches Chamber orchestra Mannheim with the International Orchestra am Chiemsee with Philharmonisches Orchestra Giessen, with Chamber Orchestra Sopot (Polen).Since 2007 teach Ekaterina Danilova at Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg.
